License Issuance

Once approved, you will receive a handgun license, allowing you to legally own and carry a handgun as specified by the permit.

Types of Licenses: A Comprehensive Overview

Licenses come in various forms, each tailored to specific purposes and industries. Understanding the differences is essential for compliance and effective application.

Concealed Carry License:

Purpose: The concealed carry license allows individuals to legally carry a concealed handgun outside their home.

We strongly recommend applying for a “Concealed Carry” license rather than a “Premises Residence” license.

A Premises Residence license only allows you to transport a unloaded firearm in a locked container to and from specific locations, such as gun stores

Premise/Residence License:

Premise/Residence License Purpose: This license allows individuals to keep a handgun at home for self-defense.

Carrying Restrictions: A premises license does not permit carrying the handgun outside the home, except for specific purposes like transport to a gun range. During transport, the firearm must generally be unloaded and securely locked.

Rifle/Shotgun License:

Purpose: This license permits individuals to own and possess rifles and shotguns.

Carrying Regulations: Due to their size, rifles and shotguns are generally not intended for concealed carry. However, specific rules usually apply to their transportation, such as requiring them to be unloaded and secured in a case.

We warmly encourage women to take advantage of our services. To support a comfortable and empowering licensing experience, we collaborate with women-owned firearms training organizations dedicated to providing a welcoming environment throughout the process.
